主にアートや建築の設計現場で、初期のアイデアを作品という形に落とし込むまでの方法を考える「企画設計」をしています。アーティストのビジョンを丁寧に聞き取り、明確な設計や図面を作成します。必要があれば、アーティストと共に地域のリサーチに訪れて、地域の方々から意見をもらうこともあります。最近は屋外に設置する大型作品の企画設計をすることが多いです。研究室での建築のプロジェクトで、竹や漆などの特殊な素材を扱う際は、作り方を確かめるためのモックアップを作ります。設計者と施工者の橋渡しをしています。芸術祭などのプロジェクト型の作品では、作家や地域の方々、職人たちと連携しながら実践しています。イベントや作品を成立させるための調整、設計、詳細図の作成、制作・設置の管理まで幅広く含みます。アーティスト、職人、地域の人々が協力できる空間を作り、アートを通じて地域をつなぎ、豊かにすることが私の目標です。
As a structural engineer, I work closely with artists to turn their ideas into real structures. I listen carefully to the artist’s vision and help create clear designs and drawings. Sometimes, I also visit local communities with the artist to gather ideas and feedback, making sure our projects fit well with their surroundings.
Recently, I have been designing large outdoor artworks. When working with unusual materials like bamboo or lacquer, I first build small models (mock-ups) to test how to create the structure before deciding on the final design. This helps us understand the best way to build the artwork.
I help designers and builders communicate better, making construction easier and smoother. My projects usually involve art festivals, where I collaborate closely with artists, local people, and skilled workers.My job includes planning, designing, drawing detailed plans, and managing the whole process of creating and installing artworks. My main goal is to create spaces where artists, craftspeople, and communities can work together, using art to connect and enrich the local area.
